One of the foundations and roots of Ferenc Cakó’s career was his father, Ferenc Fassel, also known as Fassel-L’ousa Ferenc1, who was one of the outstanding figures of 20th-century Hungarian fine art and who – it can safely be said – was only able to fully unfold his genius as a painter in the second half of his life.

The recipient is entitled to the title “Meritorious Artist of Hungary” (short: “Meritorious Artist”).



One of the most prestigious Hungarian state awards for the arts. The recipient is entitled to use the title “Outstanding Artist of Hungary” (short: “Outstanding Artist”). Only those who already hold the Meritorious Artist award and have held it for at least five years are eligible.



The highest Hungarian state decoration for the cultivation and preservation of Hungarian culture.
