The oeuvre of Sándor Dévényi, architect decorated with the Kossuth Prize, is inseparable from his proudly assumed identity as a native citizen of Pécs – the fundamental experience of his life. His works, recognized even within international discourse, are characterized by playfulness of forms, expressive and at times ironic concepts. In his buildings, the traditions of historically inspired forms are imbued with new vitality.
