Zsolt Durkó (1934-1997) was one of the most outstanding representatives of the Hungarian composer generation of the second half of the 20th century and an internationally renowned member of the generation. His career took off rapidly: by his early thirties he had already become the most frequently performed contemporary Hungarian composer abroad.
