László Eősze, musicologist, pianist, music writer, and one of the key figures in the 20th-century history of Hungarian music publishing, was born on November 17, 1923, in Rákoshegy. His father, Rezső Eősze (1882–1927), was a postal supervisor, and his mother, Janka Kovács (1886–1983), a postal inspector.
