The entire oeuvre of István Ferenczes can be described as an authentic and poetic depiction of the Hungarian fate of the 20th-century Székely and Csángó [Hungarian-speaking communities in Romania] people. He is perhaps the only significant creator among his contemporaries who wholeheartedly, with unconditional love, directly embraces and claims solidarity with these communities.
