Péter Jecza

sculptor

Sfântu Gheorghe, 16 October 1939 – Sfântu Gheorghe, 25 March 2009

Posthumous associate member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts

Although Péter Jecza’s form of expression stemmed from the neo-avant-garde, he consistently regarded himself as a figurative sculptor. His compact, solidly impactful style, fundamentally rooted in constructivism, is free of transient fashion trends, and in his works decorativeness is subordinated to meaning and conceptual content.
