Building on his increasingly intense drawing practice during his high school years – driven primarily by his reading experiences and his growing ambition to illustrate – Péter Kovács applied to the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts in 1961. In 1962, the few weeks of study he spent at the Dési Huber István Art Circle, along with the craft techniques he learned from Jenő Barcsay’s anatomy book,
