Armed with freshly earned diplomas in choral conducting and music teaching from the Liszt Academy, Mihály Ittzés began his career in 1963 at the Zeneművészeti Szakiskola in Győr (Győr Secondary School of Music), where he taught solfège, music theory, music history, and folk music. He later also served as conductor of the student orchestra and of a chamber ensemble he himself founded.
