Despite her wide-ranging interests, Éva Kollár committed herself to a musical career at an early stage. She achieved excellent results at school, was active in sports, and wrote short stories, yet it was her teachers at the music school who shaped her life path early on. Her first piano teacher was Dóra Molnár, and during her secondary school years she studied with Mára Comensoli, (a former student of Béla Bartók).
