Péter Szarvas, a Transcarpathian architect, was born on 25 January 1962 in Uzhhorod (Ungvár). For more than three decades, despite every hindrance, he has defended and shaped his native city with undiminished enthusiasm. His life is bound up with Uzhhorod; to this day, he lives on Calvary Hill in the house built by his priest–teacher grandfather.
