Gábor Karátson – painter, writer, teacher, environmental activist, and philosopher, a man who read Chinese literature in the original, a kind of ‘Hungarian Mandarin’. His versatility and art historical erudition were reflected in his artistic work as well, yet his remarkable oeuvre is difficult to situate within the currents of our time.
